Production Design

Hey y'all one of my last posts  inspired me to start a "production" design series. I already have a "design" tab in place, here, where I share some of the graphic type art that I design. And often times, FREE printables. Like thisor this one, and even this one! But, I think it might be a lot of fun to document what I'm doing all day at work. It is a big part of my life, right?

Lately, I've been working on A LOT of production design. I have been super busy lately. The orders just keep rolling in, which is a great problem to face! Basically, when I say production design, it means the artwork that is sent to the factory for bulk production. I take the designs, that I or another designer have created and I strategically place all of the artwork and logos in place for printing. With sublimation, the factory pretty much takes my files and clicks print. So, the garments are printed as is...Meaning, if I make a mistake my company will literally have to pay for it! Uh-oh...no good. So, I really have to stay focused while completing these orders.

Often times, I am doing 3-5 of these a day, so I find that the Pomodoro Technique  works quite well for my situation. I also break up production orders with a bit of design, various office tasks, pattern making, or graphic type design.I must say, not a bad way to spend my days. -Ruth-
