Dog in a Diaper...

dog in a diaper
Okay, I am about to get real. My dog isn't fixed. I think we might need to have that done. We don't know how old she is since we literally found her on the street. Our best guess is three to five. Anyhow, we found out she wasn't spayed the hard way when she suddenly went into heat for the first time. I must say, it's quite the event. The hardest part about it isn't what you might think. It's seeing her in such distress. I feel so bad. Poor baby girl. I made her this doggie diaper to keep our white carpet clean during her bi-yearly. I think it's adorable with the little puppy paw prints. Turned out pretty well if you ask me!

We are going to look into having this procedure done at her next visit to the Vet. As much as I do not want to put her through surgery, I think it might be the best option for both her and us. Do you have any experience fixing older dogs? I would love to hear about it. -Ruth-

*UPDATE* Sophee has since had her surgery (September 2013) and everything went smoothly. We also got another rescue pup a month later! Have a look at him HERE!

I never owned a dog so I can't give you any advice. I can say, though, that it's the first time I see a dog diaper. Really useful and cute! :)

thats adorable! we don;t have an older dog... but we just got our 6 month old pup fixed and she had a little extra procedure at the same time (an umbilical hernia removed) and she did fine! The hardest part was keeping her from running around for 10 days afterwards... she was crated a lot which was heart breaking but for her own good. She didnt seem to mind too much!
