Gratitude | Simple and Meaningful

Simple and Meaningful life || Gratitude
Gratitude. The feeling or expression of thankfulness. This week, every year we celebrate Thanksgiving. But, one of my biggest goals in life is to celebrate Thanksgiving daily. It is on of the things I strive for most on my journey of creating a simple and meaningful lifestyle. Every morning, I thank God and the Universe for everything past, present, and future. For both the positive and negative. For my body, mind, and soul.

Gratitude reminds me of the good things in life, helps me to focus on what is really important. It is my belief that the happiest, most successful people know gratitude to be the to be the secret to that fulfillment. If you are consistently thankful for everything you have, have ever had, and will ever have...Life can be nothing short of amazing, no?

On this week that we celebrate Thanksgiving, I urge you to create a new daily habit of giving thanks.

Don't forget to DOWNLOAD this and hang it up in your work space!

GIVEAWAY | It's a date!

Datevitation Giveaway
This is a sponsored post, accompanied by a giveaway from Datevitation. I was compensated for this post. However, all opinions of product are my own.

Datevitation Giveaway

Y'all, It's a date! I was over the moon when Datevitation asked me to review their product. My husband and I truly need fun little exercises like this to get us off our big, comfy couch! In the past, I thought I was clever and I would write dates down on paper and put them in cute little envelopes with the intention to chose one at random. Can you guess what happened. Yeah, it never did happen! It was a cute idea though. No?

Datevitation has solved this problem folks! Datevitation is the web's first space where you can create your own custom love book! Plus, they have a library of over 500 date ideas (some naughty, some nice) for you to choose from in case you've got daters block. And, it's not just for lovers anymore! You can now choose activities for kids and parents! How cool is that?

Creating a custom book is really easy and relatively inexpensive, usually around $25.00, making it a super cute, affordable, and thoughtful gift. However, for Isn't that Sew readers, you can use PROMO CODE: THATSEW10 to get $10 OFF + FREE SHIPPING on your first purchase! That means you get a book for just $15.00 bucks! The cut off date is December 13th, so go get creating HERE! Did I mention that Datevitation is a family run business by husband and wife team, Alex and Olga Karpman. I love small, family business and entrepreneurship. So, what a great way to support a small business this Holiday Season.

It's simple to enter and win a free Coupon Love Book!  Simply complete your entrie(s) below via Rafflecopter. And don't forget to read Isn't that Sew's official Giveaway rules

Carrot Soup Recipe

Carrot Soup Recipe :: By: Isn't that SewOk. It's officially Fall here in North Texas and I love soup...and by love, I mean that I could eat soup every day kinda love. In fact, I've even been known to make soup on 100° days...yes, that's a true story. It was this recipe for easy sweet potato soup. Yikes! So, in the spirit of Fall, here we have a carrot soup recipe! Make that carrot, potato, and bacon soup recipe! Yum! This soup is gluten-free and dairy free and still thick as can be! Amazing! Shhh, it's all that starch in the potatoes.

Carrot Soup Recipe
45 minutes

2 lbs carrots
2 lbs potatoes
1 large yellow onion
1 large clove garlic
8-10 slices bacon
3 cans of chicken or vegetable broth
1 can water
salt + pepper to taste

First, chop raw bacon into little bits and toss into deep soup pan. Let bacon sizzle for several minutes. While bacon cooks, dice your onion, followed by the garlic, and toss it in the pan with the bacon. Next, chop carrot into small 1/2" cubes and add to pot. Let that cook up while you cube your potatoes. You can cube the potatoes as large or small as you'd like, it really doesn't matter. Again, toss them into the pot and let cook for a few minutes. Add chicken broth and water and boil on high for approximately 20 minutes or until potatoes and carrots are tender. Using an immersion blender or standard blender, blend soup to desired texture.

You can also make this recipe in the crock pot, simply add all the ingredient and cook on low all day, or on high for 3-4 hours and blend. Enjoy! -Ruth-
